Localabs helps you read and understand your own lab reports and health data in plain language. These terms explain what that does — and does not — mean. By using Localabs you agree to them.
The short version
Localabs is a wellness and education tool, not a medical device and not a doctor. It can be wrong. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical advice. Always confirm anything important with your clinician, and never delay care because of something you read here.

1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Bithunch LLC ("we," "us"), the publisher of the Localabs app ("Localabs," "the app"). By downloading, installing, or using Localabs, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What Localabs is
Localabs is an informational, educational tool. It uses an on-device AI model to translate lab reports and health data into plain language, surface trends, and answer follow-up questions. It is intended for general wellness and personal understanding. Localabs is not a medical device, is not intended to diagnose, cure, treat, mitigate, or prevent any disease, and is not a substitute for professional medical care.
3. Medical disclaimer
The content Localabs produces is for informational purposes only and may be inaccurate. The app runs a small AI model that can misread a scan, misstate a value, or produce incorrect or incomplete information. You should never rely on Localabs for medical decisions.
Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health provider with any questions you have about a medical condition or your results. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read in Localabs. Confirm anything important with your doctor and your original report.
4. No doctor–patient relationship
Using Localabs does not create a doctor–patient relationship between you and Bithunch LLC, its developers, or anyone affiliated with it. We do not practice medicine, do not provide medical advice, and do not prescribe medications.
5. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the documents and information you put into the app, and for how you interpret and act on its output.
- You are responsible for the security of your device, where all of your data is stored.
- You will not use Localabs for any unlawful purpose, or to make decisions for anyone other than yourself without appropriate authority.
- Localabs is intended for adults interpreting their own results. Do not use it as a diagnostic or treatment tool for yourself or others.
6. Reminders and notifications
Medication reminders, lab-recheck reminders, and visit check-ins are conveniences, not guarantees. Do not rely on them for time- or dose-critical medications. Notification delivery is controlled by iOS and may be delayed or missed. You remain solely responsible for your medications and care schedule.
7. Privacy
Localabs runs entirely on your device. Your scans, lab values, medications, symptoms, and health data are stored locally and are never sent to a server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
8. Intellectual property and open source
Localabs incorporates open-source components, including llama.cpp and a quantized build of Google's MedGemma 4B model, each under their respective licenses. The Localabs name, brand, and original app code are the property of Bithunch LLC. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by the App Store terms and applicable open-source licenses.
9. No warranty
Localabs is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app or its output is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free, or that the app will be uninterrupted or secure.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bithunch LLC and its developers, officers, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any harm, loss, or injury arising out of or relating to your use of, or reliance on, Localabs or its output, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app (which, for a free app, is zero). You use Localabs entirely at your own risk.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bithunch LLC and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the app or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Bithunch LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Localabs after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
